Worst Blogger Ever

I am officially the worst blogger in the world. Where the heck do you people find the time to keep up with these things??? Between work, kids, husband, mother, and dogs I can hardly find time to breathe. Wow, that almost sounded like complaining didn't it?? Well, I'm not complaining, just totally wishing I had more time for this. "If I could save time in a bottle...." is going to be my new theme song. But, seriously, if I COULD save time in a bottle I would use that time for family and friends. Oh, and I would travel. Less work and lots of travel. Speaking of travel, here are a few pictures from our last trip to Dallas. My brother got married and it was so beautiful!!

New Pictures courtesy of my brother Jeff

My brother and his family came to visit a few weeks ago. It was so good to see them and they are always so much fun to have around. Gina (my brothers fiance) gave Jeff, (my brother) a Nikon camera for Christmas and he went crazy taking pictures. Here are just a few...

Teens and Toddlers

Okay, so this morning as I am fighting to get Rylee dressed and Jordan out of bed, I had a thought. Teenagers (Jordan) and toddlers (Rylee) are such similar creatures. The similarities are scary. I will list a few:

They are both defiant.
They are both fighting to be independent.
They both make huge messes and don't clean them up.
They both watch too much TV.
They both have an "I am the center of the universe" attitude
They both are very picky eaters.
They both demand my attention at the most inopportune times.
They both create unbelievable amounts of laundry.
They both cry when they don't get their way.

I could go on and on, but I am sure you get the point. Even with all of the challenges of raising a teenager and a toddler at the same time, I realized as soon as I dropped them off at school and there was silence, I missed them. It was quiet and my stress level was back to normal and I couldn't wait until it was time to pick them up again. And when I did, they both greeted me with a smile and silently reminded me how fortunate I am to be their mom.

The holidays are over!!

Okay, now that the holidays are over I finally have some time! We had a great Christmas, even though Derek did have to work. As usual we were able to have all of the kids together and everyone was happy, with the exception of one small incident involving a bike helmet. Otherwise, all was good and uneventful. We did end up traveling to Witchita Falls to see Derek's parents the day after Christmas which was really fun. I love getting to spend time with everyone and Kathy always has such awesome things planned for the kids, they never get bored! Even though we did have one small issue with going to feed carrots to the groundhogs. It was December and guess what...groundhogs hibernate!! I bet you knew that, huh? We compromised by trying to throw the carrots into their little holes in the ground. An activity that was fun for the kids but I'm sure really ticked off a couple of sleeping groundhogs!! We decided we would go to feed the Canadian Geese instead and that was so cool. There were so many of them I felt like we were in an Alfred Hitchcock movie. We had a great time and I can't wait to go back, although I wish we could fly instead of drive!
